Meaningful Cheap Wedding Favors

When planning my own wedding, going for cheap wedding favors was key. I wanted to involve my future mother-in-law, who is disabled, since she wasn't able to help with a lot of the other wedding planning. I wanted to favors to be meaningful; for our family and friends and searched high and low for a great idea.

This by far, is my favorite idea for wedding favors on any budget.

The cost is one piece of paper, some ribbon, ink, and an optional piece of candy.

The idea is creating a story book of how you and your love found each other and got married.

I took a piece of paper and divided it into six squares to make my book. You can make as many as you want, but for us, six was just right. That meant five pages and a cover.

The cover could be a photo of the two of you, a heart graphic, a picture of the flowers you used in your wedding, or just blank with your names and the wedding date.

You can make any number of pages inside, but here is what my husband and I did.

The first and second page were little bios of my husband and I, him first because he is older. We met in college and we just wrote a brief synopsis of where we each were in our lives when we met.

The third page was about how we met and what we both remembered about that first meeting.

The fourth page was one of our favorite stories about when we were dating. It was a humorous but touching story that not all of our guests would have heard. We were happy to share it with them.

The fifth story was how he proposed. It was another humours but loving story that we thought our guests would enjoy.

Some other ideas to include are:

The bride and the groom write their own version of their favorite story.

The bride and the groom each write their favorite thing about each other.

The bride and the groom each tell when they knew that the other was "the one."

The book can be as short or as long as you want.

This is my favorite idea for a cheap wedding favor. I hope you find it useful.
